We're using it as a sugar bowl, and it's exactly what we were looking for. (We wanted the tight seal to keep out ants in hot & humid Atlanta.) It's compact and seems very well made. Plus, I know Le Creuset stands by their products. We recently had a problem with our Le Creuset teapot, which we've had for 4+ years, and they replaced it for free.

Le Creuset small spice jar holds 7 oz. Silicone rims keeps lid on securely and product fresh.Anyone can put this charming spice jar to good use. The smallest of three sizes offered by Le Creuset, the jar holds up to seven ounces of sea salt, dried herbs, tea, and plenty of other treasures, both edible and inedible. A silicone seal on the lid helps keep the contents fresh. Made in France of high-fired stoneware with a non-porous enamel glaze, the jar won't absorb odors or flavors, resists staining and chipping, and is dishwasher-safe. A choice of colors embellishes the exterior of the jar and lid in a graded fashion, from dark to light. The interior is glazed a neutral tone.
