Customer Review: My New Salt Jar

I am buying Real Salt in bulk now, and needed a Salt Pig for the counter. But I just couldn't seem to find one I liked. I wanted it closed, not with an open hole. That's convenient, but with summer flies coming in and out not too sanitary.
I already have Le Creuset cast iron and stoneware so when I came across this item I jumped on it. I wasn't sure until it arrived that I had chosen the right size, but it's perfect! Holds about a cup of salt. The lid has a rubber seal which is airtight. That made it slow to remove so I took it off. To keep an herb mixture fresh, you would want to leave it on.
This would be a perfect crock for pate. I wouldn't mind having a few more of these.
A little pricey, but I used the 4-3 when buying several needed items. So this was a bonus.

Le Creuset medium spice jar holds 14 oz. Silicone rims keeps lid on securely and product fresh.This charming spice jar comes in handy in just about any kitchen. The middle of three sizes offered by Le Creuset, the jar holds up to 14 ounces of dried herbs, tea, chocolates, and plenty of other treasures, both edible and inedible. A silicone seal on the lid helps keep the contents fresh. Made in France of high-fired stoneware with a non-porous enamel glaze, the jar won't absorb odors or flavors, resists staining and chipping, and is dishwasher-safe. A choice of colors embellishes the exterior of the jar and lid in a graded fashion, from dark to light. The interior is glazed a neutral tone.
