Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Le Creuset Stoneware Covered Oval Baking DishCustomer Review: Nice quality Summary: 4 StarsAmazon doesn't take any steps to protect this in shipment. 1st one arrived in thousands of pieces, Amazon reshipped, same loose box in an oversized box but it arrived ok.
Note this has a enameled interior and fired just under 2000 degrees unlike traditional stoneware which is red clay fired at 2100 degrees.

This enameled interior makes the stoneware dishwasher safe but personally I prefer the higher temperature red clay seasoned stoneware that works much like seasoned cast iron. Can be washed with soap but once seasoned never sticks...
Customer Review: Very nice! Summary: 4 StarsBig. Very big. 2 chickens, easy... Maybe 3.
Nice quality, as one would expect from a classic line like Le Creuset.
This one, we keep.
(PS: Why does Amazon's spell checker underline Creuset? Suggestion to the good people at Amazon: add the brand names you carry to the dictionary, even if they are -- especially if they are -- French.)
Customer Review: Great dish, love size, performance and color! Summary: 5 StarsThis dish has been great. I just roasted 2 chickens in it last night and it worked well. They fit in the dish, roasted nicely and made for a beautiful presentation on the buffet. I like that the dish is easy to clean, (just let it soak) and really cleans up well. I also used this dish for baked mac & cheese and a oven beef stew- worked great. The size is big, but I have found that it is perfect for my family of four. Would purchase again.
Customer Review: From the factory to the world... not France Summary: 1 Stars This would be a reminder to Amazon that they should state the country of origin for everything. I will not buy from the off-the-original-shore factories unless there is zero choice. No, I don't mean that I won't buy foreign... it means that I will not buy products from countries which do not care what it is they are producing... countries which have bargain priced workers... ready to do their best to make whatever they are asked to make. I want products that have heart. If it is a Chinese or Indian product that is part of the culture of that nation... then I am interested... but I do not want French stoneware made in Thailand or American furniture made in the People's Republic of China. As of today, here is what it says on the Amazon page featuring this product: "About Le Creuset...Since 1925, artisans have been crafting Le Creuset cookware in the French village of Fresnoy Le Grand."
Customer Review: Nice oven-to-table dish Summary: 5 StarsI wasn't quite prepared for how large this dish is, but it will come in handy for feeding a crowd. Perfect for scalloped potatoes, baked beans, pasta casseroles, etc. I love the color. Way too big for the freezer!
