i liked these so much i just ordered 2 more sets. not only do they coordinate perfectly with the other red cast iron pieces, they are super sturdy. i'm really impressed with the quality of their pottery, even if it is made outside of france.
this is a great size. i use them for serving baked beans and other sides, ice cream, salsa, lime wedges etc. i bought some more so i could use them for sides for guests and creme brulee. they're so pretty i don't even use them for prepping ingredients, i use my glass ones for that ; )

This 2-pc. ramekin set is so versatile that you can use them to bake, serve and store things in. The 7.75-oz. ramekins are oven, broiler and microwave-safe and will not absorb odors or flavors. The durable finish resists chipping, scratching and staining, making them a wise investment for the kitchen-lover.These pretty little ramekins are a bit different in style than the traditional vertically rippled cups that look like miniature souffl? dishes. The tall, smooth sides are only interrupted by three horizontal ridges--it's a clean look, and actually makes them more practical. They're easier to grab from under the hot broiler and also easier to scrub clean after use--no more caramelized sugar trapped in the ripples! The smooth interior flares just slightly at the top to provide a broader surface area for that tasty top layer. Each ramekin holds up to 8 ounces when filled to the very brim, and goes easily from freezer to oven or microwave--terrific for make-ahead fruit crisps or cobblers.
