Summary: 4 Stars
the care and use instructions are in 6 languages, none of them English, making only the maximum oven temperature obvious. I want to see what the manufacturer says, not what's listed here, which could be mistyped or incomplete. The lid does not fit well as another reviewer of a different piece in this line has written; it rocks quite a bit, so it seems there might be too much evaporation during braising. It took much investigation to estimate the dimensions of this piece before I ordered it; they were not listed here or at the LeCreuset site. They are (interior): 12w x 9d x 3h. The 3 inch height is unusual and important for making Marcella Hazan's scrumptious artichoke lasagna (no fewer than 6 layers, she specifies, and she is a consummate culinary engineer) or any deep dish, but it will work for baking cakes and the like, too. It's a sturdy piece, yet not too heavy, and it's pretty despite the interior color. In the photo(s), the interior and handles appear white; they are instead an unusual tan. The breezy, cool caribbean blue would look more stylistically appropriate with cool, clean white. I was delighted to see that the ombre exterior look in the photo, which I disappointedly thought was probably just photographic shadows, is the actual finish.
