I bought this for my daughter for Christmas because I love the one I bought for myself a few months ago, and she had admired mine. I use it for soups, stews, roasts, one-dish meals. It has virtually replaced my slow cooker. It browns meats beautifully and you can simmer on the stove top or put it in the oven. It's well worth the price!
The only thing I don't like about Le Creuset is the choice of colors. Most of them are much too bright for my taste. When I found it in black on Amazon I ordered it immediately. While out shopping for Christmas, I was told at all the stores, like Williams Sonoma, that Le Creuset doesn't come in black, so I went back to my trusted Amazon.com for my daughter's gift. She was delighted.
